Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) declared on Saturday that it has linked more than 70,000 polling stations to Google Maps for the upcoming 2018 elections. This connection will enable voters to locate polling stations easily. This app will help users to compute the distance to the nearest polling stations to their homes.
This resolution was made during a convention chaired by Chief Election Commissioner Sardar Muhammad Raza, as the ECP sought to improve translucency in next year’s general elections. In the press meeting, ECP also assured the availability of facilities like drinking water, electricity, restrooms and telephones at the polling stations across all four provinces and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata).
