Happening Now: She Loves Tech Pakistan startup competition is being held on Aug 19.

She Loves Tech Pakistan startup competition by Circle is being held on Aug 19 from 3 to 6 pm at JS Auditorium, IBA City Campus Karachi. The competition is for those startups who are either led by a women entrepreneur or aim to impact lives of women. From the dozens of startups that applied for the competition in July, the top 10 have been shortlisted.

These shortlisted startups will be pitching at the competition on Aug 19 in front of a panel of judges. The judges who are Samara Faisal, Raza Matin (Country Consultant at Google), Azhar Rizvi (has trained 15,000 entrepreneurs), Omar Javaid, Danielle Sharaf, Meenah Tariq and Amna Nadim. The judges will look at a range of criteria including market opportunity, growth potential, innovation and creativity, caliber of founder and team, and last but not least, women impact.



The following are the Top 10 Startups that will be pitching in the finals:

  1. doctHERs

From tele-medicine and EMR(Electronice Medical Record) to digital payments to e-prescriptions, doctHERs digitizes the entire healthcare value chain to improve quality and reduce cost, especially in rural areas. It provides you with 24/7 access to leading specialists and consultants through the simple convenience of a smart-phone.

  1. meraPaisa

meraPaisa is a Mobile Wallet that facilitates low-income groups, especially women, to gain financial independence through digital payments.

  1. Sehat Kahani

Sehat Kahani features a wide range of ICT-enabled health services including tele-medicine, health education and promotion, health market research and solutions for gender adversity. These services are provided in the health sector in rural and low income urban communities. It aims to provide a basic health unit to each underprivileged area across Pakistan.

  1. trashIt

trashIt has created an economical automated composting bin that provides users with a hassle-free composting experience. With trashIt, your organic waste goes from trash to fertilizer without ever leaving the bin!

  1. She’Kab

She’Kab is Pakistan’s first shared taxi service for women. The ride is shared with at least 3 other women en-route to a drop-off location in the same vicinity. Safe commuting is now possible for women in Islamabad and Rawalpindi!

  1. EDVON

EDVON works towards revolutionizing the education system by developing and teaching an easily accessible robotics curriculum for all K-12 schools. The academia can now provide state-of-the-art education through modular robots as early as school level.

  1. Aurat Raaj

Aurat Raaj is the first digital content platform that provides education, guidance, inspiration and support to Pakistani women. Women can now get educational and social advice from a chatbot called Raaji.
