International Finance Corporation Executive Vice President Phillippe Le Houerou said that IFC is keen to invest in Pakistan’s private sector.
He said this in a meeting held at World Bank, Washington with Pakistan delegation headed by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar. He congratulated the finance minister on completing the IMF program and implementing structural reforms in the country.He also informed that IFC has a program portfolio of around $800 million in Pakistan and wished to increase that to a billion dollars.
The finance minister appreciated the idea and also expressed that IFC can help Pakistan in its energy sector projects by increasing private sector investment in this industry.
Le was also invited by the finance minister in privatization of some of the state owned enterprises.
