Rs. 170 Millions Of Total Investments On Idea Croron Ka Season 3

What a brilliant end to the year 2018. Idea Croron Ka Season 3 aired their final episode on 30th December, announcing Rs. 170 millions of investments committed only in 3rd season. 17 startups raised funding out of which 9 are women entrepreneurs. Season 3 of Idea Croron Ka brought together Facebook and USAID Small and Medium Enterprise Activity as major partners. Moreover, this season got Sprite on board as the first sponsors of Pakistan’s premier business reality show.

Nabeel A. Qadeer, Lead, Host and Content Producer of the show was ecstatic to share what all this entrepreneurial ecosystem has achieved this year: “As I always say, I have complete faith in the entrepreneurs of this country and one day one of these entrepreneurs are going to change the fate of Pakistan. I am grateful to all the partners who came along and believed in this cause. We’ll be back with a new season in next year and look forward to more people coming together to support and facilitate entrepreneurs.”

Here’s a quick summary of who got, how much of funding in Season 3:

1-Lahore New Media Network– Lahore New Media Labs owns and maintains EasyTickets, which is Pakistan’s leading online marketplace for entertainment and hospitality bookings including Cinemas, Buses and Events. Lahore New Media Labs proposed to develop an online hotel booking management system, with the a value addition of being able to integrate into their existing ‘Easy Ticket’ business model. The online hotel booking management system will be a dynamic cloud-based hotel booking software installed at the Hotels and will provide real time integration primarily into the easy ticket or other online reservation applications/portals.

2-Transconomy– The purpose of Transconomy is to serve the logistics and transportation industry by providing ICT solutions for supply chain management processes at ports and end-to-end visibility across an entire supply chain cycle. The flagship product is a Line of Business Software, called Transconomy Terminal, which will automate the daily operations with transparency and aims to augment the ability of these facilities to process more cargo, more efficiently.  It is designed to facilitate the unification of the entire operations taking place at the cargo management facilities (CMF).

3-Sheops– Pakistan’s first women’s marketplace, facilitating women entrepreneurs and women-oriented businesses to start and scale their business leveraging technology. Sheops is also a bustling Facebook Group of 100,000+ connecting women buyers and sellers.

4-BatteryLala– BatteryLala is the first of its kind to bring the battery purchase to a click with free same day delivery, cheaper prices, free professional installation, free after sale services. BatteryLala ensures the originality of the product and the products are 100% new and warrantied.

5-Marham– a community created with an aim to provide quick medical help to the patients in terms of right doctor identification, sharing quick access points of the doctors and other such problems. The community has 100K+ members.

6-JF Labs– Provide Agricultural Drone Services. Helping farmers to enhance the quality of cultivation process through more detailed and precise imaging. Monitoring the health of crops along with land via latest imaging techniques.

7-Karachi Schools’ Guide– a community that provides a unified platform to bridge the gap between parents, teachers, educators and students in order to bring them on a single page for an exchange of healthy information related to the field of education and activities which will aid to the constructive development of kids. 8-Special Needs Pakistan– a platform and a resource network for parents, siblings, families and friends of all those who need extra love, attention or care. The group has 6K+ members.

9-Le Pur Organics– Le Pur Organics is 100% natural Organic Skincare product selling company. High-Quality Virgin Oils are extracted solely from plants which make them 100% Eco-Friendly. 10-Sustainable Living Environment– It is a startup that’s working on integrated waste management system. They are introducing a system through which waste can be collected, segregated and transferred to recycling units.

11-Soul Sisters Pakistan– a community formed with the intention to provide an online support system for every Pakistani woman, regardless of where she lives. Although the primary focus remains to be able to discuss women’s issues and networking with like-minded individuals, it has also evolved into an information and entertainment avenue with its own blog that periodically features stories of group members. The community has 54K+ members.

12-HARIS – Human Aid Robotics and Intelligent System. HARIS has a vision of Research & Development for Industrial Sector in order to provide low cost Electro-Mechanical machines where required and reducing the import cost and expensive imported machinery.

13-Daffodils Day Care & Montessori– This is a day care center set up for mothers who want to work but have nowhere to leave their kids at. There are hardly any day care centers in Peshawar and so Gul Meena started this to facilitate women who want to work and contribute economically.

14-Dervish – The Food Souq. It is a food incubator, that owns three brands at the moment and all three of them are now generating profits. Successfully incubated 6 startups in 1 year. 83% success ratio in the incubation portfolio, as 5 out of 6 ventures successfully sustained for more than one year at Dervish – The Food Souq.

15-Edkasa– Edkasa Private Limited is a woman-led, ICT-driven educational tutorial services business. It proposes to implement on the ‘Edupreneur Model’. Through this model, education entrepreneurs will run private tutorial academies (known as private tuition academies in Pakistan) that provide cloud-based, live, online classroom training/tutorials in 5 subjects for their students in grade levels 11 and 12. This allows the students to access live, online classes taught on a regular schedule. The live classes are designed and taught using a purpose-built curriculum to prepare students to take and pass the Punjab provincial Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) exams.

16-Downtown Bistro– Down Town Bistro is a retro thematic restaurant located in Peshawar. The restaurant is a pilot initiative of a motivated business graduate who belongs to FATA region. The applicant was inspired by an academic research as part of his business management studies which concluded that 90% of the new fast food outlets fail to attract customers sustain themselves in the long run. This led the applicant to an innovative idea to position its fast food brand with a unique retro theme, attractive packaging and products but in a cost-effective location in Peshawar, this pilot project eventually attracted customers and is a profitable venture now.

17-Karachi Chefs at Home– a female-only Facebook group where members share a love for food and cooking. Women share their tried and tested recipes, and through the group these have been compiled into 3 books known as Tasty Treasures Volume 1,2 and 3. The community has 135K+ members.
