Aurat Foundation, recognized as the leading institute for female empowerment in Pakistan has developed a skill building initiative for women in collaboration with USAID.
The program that targets female graduates, will offer training in developing IT skills and place them in software houses as paid interns.
The females will be trained for 6 months and placed at software houses and IT detriments funded by USAID. Organisations and businesses with IT departments ought to find it beneficial to engage with the initiators of the program.
Hamdard University in Karachi has been assigned to engage 120 female graduates to enable them for the internship program. This may prove to be an effective strategy for engaging women in the IT sector.
