Playing the victim card won’t work, Nawaz Sharif

“Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif said that General Bajwa and General Faiz were behind my disqualification. Playing the victim card won’t work; this is not a victimization issue.

Addressing a video link from a consultative meeting of PML-N in Punjab, Nawaz Sharif stated that nations that do not hold themselves accountable always suffer the consequences, and the message of self-accountability should reach every corner of the country.

He said that our success in the upcoming general elections is inevitable, and those responsible for the accountability drama in Pakistan will also be held accountable. He expressed his desire that such bitterness should not have prevailed in the country, and leaders and workers of PML-N, including Maryam Nawaz and Hamza Shehbaz, faced jails and hardships without any crime.

In 2017, the country was progressing; these were not the circumstances we are witnessing today.

The former Prime Minister questioned who is responsible for bringing the country to this state, with people today fearing for their livelihoods. He pointed out that in 2017, the country was progressing, and these were not the circumstances we are witnessing today.

Nawaz Sharif said, ‘In 2017, things were different. Wheat, ghee, and sugar were available at lower prices. In our time, people were getting electricity bills of only a thousand rupees, but today, they are receiving bills of 30,000 rupees. Where should the common people get the money to pay these electricity bills?’

Those who brought the nation to this state are in front of us. Our accountability takes place within a minute. Will there be accountability for those who brought the country to this state?

Nawaz Sharif

He added, ‘We made the country a nuclear power. The person who makes the country a nuclear power is called a traitor, is imprisoned, and sentenced to 27 years in anti-terrorism courts. Was making the country’s defence impregnable my fault?’

The person who saved the country from destruction was sent home.

Nawaz Sharif said, ‘The person who saves the country from load shedding sends four judges to send home a Prime Minister elected by millions of people. General Bajwa and General Faiz were behind this, while their facilitators were Saqib Nisar and Asif Saeed Khosa.’

He said, ‘Today, India has reached the moon and is holding a G20 summit in its country. We should have done all this. In December 1990, when I became the Prime Minister, India was following our initiated economic reforms.’

When Vajpayee became Prime Minister, at that time, India did not have a billion-dollar treasure, but today, they have reserves of 600 billion dollars.’

Nawaz Sharif

They are the biggest criminals who brought the country into such a state.

Nawaz Sharif said, ‘The biggest criminals who brought the country to destruction are those who did not save Pakistan from default. Today, petrol costs a thousand rupees a liter in Pakistan. I saved Pakistan from default by investing in our political capital.’

I left the matter to Allah Almighty before, and I still leave it to Allah Almighty. I had the love of Allah and Pakistan in my heart, and I still do.

Nawaz Sharif

He stated, ‘Those who have ruined the fate of 250 million people are bigger criminals than murderers. It would be a great injustice to let them go. They are unforgivable.’

He emphasized that the nation needs to know all these facts about who is responsible for bringing the country to the brink of destruction, and they should not be forgiven.”
